Lecture: “The Northeast Bronx: From Retreating Glaciers To Co-op City”

Mike Virgintino returns to the Bush Lyon Homestead as part of his lecture series on Sunday, November 8th.

“The Northeast Bronx: From Retreating Glaciers To Co-op City” provides an historic look at the boulders left behind by the glaciers, the marshland that was home of the Lenape, Dutch and English, the lost airport, the Village of Baychester and summer cabins, the Freedomland U.S.A. American history theme park, and today’s housing and shopping center. (This briefly includes Freedomland as it relates to the history of the northeast area of the borough.)
